ABOUT
Alex's current practice revolves around the vitality of matter; the alchemy of making her own materials from natural resources being an important process within her work. As the artist, this allows Alex to authentically imprint herself into the art, expressed through the medium of drawing with charcoal and paint. Through the physical act of mark making, her art work aims to capture a sense of place, either from memory or from on site experiences in the forest. Nature is Alex's primary inspiration, and her work aims to capture the energy of experiences in the forest, through spontaneous gesture and performance. She wishes to immerse the viewer into her own realm of expression; a journey into the fantasy and mysticism of nature.
